Emma’s Story
Emma was only three years old when Good Soil Partners cofounder, Cindy Chartier, met her in Kang’oma Village in Malawi. Her mother sold bread in the village because her dad was unemployed. Feeding their family of five was extremely difficult with this limited income, and Cindy couldn’t help but be worried about this beautiful girl’s future.
Because of Good Soil Partners, Emma received scholarships to both secondary school and college. Today, Emma is in college and wants to be a doctor. With her grades and her drive, she will likely succeed.
If Good Soil Partners had not provided Emma with a school scholarship, her education would have ended in 8th grade. Emma is one of the many bright students in our program who flourish, breaking the cycle of poverty and transforming their communities.
Good Soil Academy allows us to leverage our resources by ensuring that each student, like Emma, receives the best possible Christian education in a safe, nurturing environment. They will also receive biblical entrepreneurship training, leadership development training, and opportunities for job skill acquisition.
