I have had a heart connection with Africa since I was a child. My dream came true in 1999 when I visited eastern Africa alone after a significant life change. I knew that somewhere in my future I would go back to this magical place and pursue my passion for helping others access the opportunities to be their most authentic selves. Who knew that 20 years later, in an office in New Hampshire, I would hear the word Malawi spoken by a Good Soil board member and that I would end up with plane tickets to Kang’oma village in Malawi. Good Soil’s vision gives me a great opportunity and honor to share my skills as a lifelong educator in helping others reach their personal goals.

In my daily life, I serve as a board certified behavior analyst (BCBA) consultant. I have more than  25 years experience working in the public school system as both a special education teacher and emotional/behavior consultant. One of my greatest joys and privileges is being invited into the homes of families who are struggling with their children’s behavior and assisting them in creating peace within their four walls.

My greatest blessings are my husband, Tom, who is also an educator and life-long traveler, my teenage sons, Aidan and Reid, and my daughter Caroline. They teach me every day how to be a better human being. I cannot forget the other two loves of my life, my black Labrador retrievers, Duncan and Violet, who allow me to spend hours in the woods and walking the beaches on the seacoast of New Hampshire.

I see it as a privilege to be part of the GSP scholarship program as I do not only benefit tuition fees but also the leadership and entrepreneurship training programs. Through GSP I feel I will become a better leader and citizen. Thanks to GSP I am where I am now.

To GSP, my words cannot be enough to express my gratitude for the impact that you are doing in Malawi. Through your help, I am now able to help my siblings and family with some basic needs and I am now looking forward to helping more and more people so that through me they can realize their potential.

It is a great feeling seeing myself achieve my goals of being at the university while GSP is handling my tuition and other school necessities. What a big impact GSP is having in my life and my family who can not afford my college expenses. I am grateful to GSP for the impact they are making
