Rafick lives with his mother and two younger siblings. His father left the family. He is the third of six children in his family. He enjoys playing soccer and indoor games. Rafick lives outside Kang’oma village and has to walk 20 minutes to school. He is the first in the family to go to secondary school but his mother does not have the ability to pay for fees, uniforms, and supplies. Rafick’s mother sells vegetables to earn money.
Math is Rafick’s strength. But it is challenging for him to study because he has to help with the farming. It is difficult to work and then study because there is no electricity or running water in his home. He studies at the primary school with a group of secondary students when he can. Rafick would like to go to college and become an accountant. He would appreciate if Good Soil Partners could financially support his goal.
