Dreaming Big & Singing Songs of Joy

Siphat Kambona meet Good Soil Partners back in 2016 when she was at the brink of dropping out of secondary school.

“As I look back, I realize that none of my dreams would have come true if I hadn’t come across Good Soil Partners. My sister, who supported me financially, could no longer fund my education because it was too expensive and my parents could not assist me financially in any way either. I realized that I would not be able to finish my education and that would make me vulnerable as a young girl to many cultural uncertainties."

Since Good Soil Partner's came into Siphat's life, Siphat has graduated high school with 18 points and has been selected into the Malawi University of Science and Technology! Siphat wishes to study computer systems because she has always had interest in technology and computer systems which started when she was a young girl.

She says, "“With no doubt, my passion is to develop the youth in Malawi. Growing up, I lacked basic knowledge of using a computer and because of that, I was faced with many difficulties learning in school. This struggle is true for many youths in the rural communities who do not have the financial means to buy a computer  or even the knowledge on how to use one. This is why I would like to educate them in the basics of computers so that they will be equipped with skills in these technology fundamentals that is needed today!"

After her studies, she plans to introduce cyber security services to various corporate bodies in Malawi. Siphat believes that in the future, Malawi will need to be armed and ready as technology advances and she hopes to be a leader in this!

"It is through Good Soil Partners that I have been given the ability to dream big with an opportunity in education as well as a promising future. Now, I can sing songs of joy because I know that through the GSP scholarship program, I will complete my studies and become a figure of influence."
